Accountant

About the Role

We are seeking a committed Accountant to support a prominent cloud-hosted point-of-sale and payment infrastructure company serving nearly 150,000 retail, restaurant, and wholesale client sites globally. You will play a vital role in maintaining financial accuracy by overseeing essential accounting activities and partnering with internal stakeholders. Based remotely in the Philippines, you will report to the NOAM Team Lead. This role emphasizes professional development and the use of current technology within a cooperative team setting. You must be available during North American Eastern Standard Time hours to facilitate effective interaction and reporting with international teams.

Requirements

• You must be a Certified Public Accountant with relevant previous accounting experience.
• You need advanced skills in Excel to perform analytical and reporting duties.
• You must demonstrate exceptional organizational capabilities, effective time management, and meticulous attention to detail.
• You should possess strong interpersonal skills to coordinate with colleagues outside of the finance department and maintain strict confidentiality.
• You must have full professional fluency in English and be capable of working during North American Eastern Standard Time hours.
• You are required to maintain a stable internet connection of at least 50 Mbps, possess a designated remote work area, reside within the Greater Metro Manila area, and hold legal authorization to work in the country.

Responsibilities

• You will handle monthly bank reconciliations and identify and fix any irregularities.
• You will execute payment and billing uploads while preparing month-end accruals related to commissions for resellers.
• You will oversee payroll-specific functions, including the reconciliation of payroll data and accruals for Canadian branches, and document reclassifications for bonuses and withholdings.
• You will assess outstanding purchase orders and goods received that lack invoices to facilitate expense accruals.
• You will create budget variance reports for marketing, legal, and operational expenses, alongside generating financial reporting packages for subsidiaries.
• You will partner with the FP&A team and other departments to resolve reconciliation discrepancies and provide detailed commentary on budget variances.
