Accountant – UK Clients

About the Role

We are looking for a committed Accountant to manage a portfolio of UK-based clients. You will work within a focused group managed by a UK-based Senior Accounts Manager to deliver premium accounting, corporate secretarial, and payroll solutions to small and mid-sized businesses. Requirements

• Possess a degree in finance, accounting, or commerce, such as a BS Accountancy or B.Com.
• Maintain at least two years of general accounting experience, with at least one year focused on UK-based clients.
• Demonstrate proficiency in cloud accounting platforms such as QuickBooks or Xero, plus a solid understanding of VAT preparation, bank reconciliations, and bookkeeping.
• Reside in the Philippines or India with legal authorization to work, and have the ability to work shifts that align with UK business hours.
• Communicate effectively in written English for professional client interactions.
• Consent to background screenings, including credit, education, and criminal history checks.
• Experience with CT600 forms or draft year-end accounts is considered a beneficial qualification.

Responsibilities

• Execute bookkeeping functions, file VAT returns, and draft year-end financial statements for small business clients in the UK.
• Maintain current financial data within Xero, perform bank reconciliations, and handle sales and purchase ledgers, alongside month-end and year-end adjustments.
• Prepare VAT returns in compliance with Making Tax Digital requirements for final review and progress toward managing draft year-end accounts and corporation tax filings independently.
• Ensure all work is precise before submission for review and take initiative in fixing errors.
• Communicate with clients to obtain necessary documents and report potential delays to the Senior Accountant.
• Keep client documentation accurate and use embedded AI tools within the company's workflows to boost productivity.
