Accounting Manager – AI & Automation

About the Role

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to lead financial responsibilities for a specific property management portfolio. In this position, you will lead innovation by using Maynard AI agents paired with AppFolio to manage intricate financial tasks. You will serve as a link between human professional judgment and automated efficiency, monitoring AI performance and improving system workflows. You will collaborate with three fellow Accounting Managers, the CFO, and our engineering department to guarantee the precision and reliability of financial data across a wide range of real estate holdings. This role allows you to transition away from manual data entry toward a focus on process optimization, system controls, and prompt engineering. You will be accountable for corporate accounting cycles, property-level financial statements, and maintaining U.S. GAAP standards. By delivering comprehensive management reports and variance analysis, you will be a vital contributor to our financial operations and the development of our automated accounting framework.

Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Demonstrate a strong history of managing month-end closes, general ledgers, and financial statement preparation.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of U.S. GAAP and standard accounting principles.
• Have practical experience using AppFolio for configuration and reporting purposes.
• Show proficiency in or a keen interest in learning technical skills including APIs, SQL, and AI automation software.
• Possess strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Demonstrate an analytical mindset and the capacity to solve complex accounting issues independently.
• Maintain a reliable internet connection and work remotely from the Philippines, with availability to overlap with U.S. Pacific time zone business hours.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and validate the work performed by AI agents to ensure that reports, reconciliations, and journal entries adhere to U.S. GAAP and high-quality standards.
• Analyze accounting exceptions, record how they were resolved, and decide when manual input is required to fix errors.
• Direct the corporate month-end close, including prepaids, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
• Supervise accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks, such as billing and payment cycles, ensuring that subledgers and the general ledger are balanced.
• Collaborate with the engineering staff to refine rules, workflows, and controls for automated agents.
• Assist the CFO by preparing management reports, variance analysis, and audit documentation for owners.
