In this remote position, you will support behavioral health clinics by managing vital financial and administrative processes, ensuring that medical practices across the U.S. maintain efficient and precise financial operations.

Requirements

• You need a minimum of one year of professional experience in the U.S. insurance sector, specifically in the areas of payment posting, insurance follow-up, and submitting claims.
• Expertise in using various payer websites and portals is required, as well as a comprehensive understanding of how both government and commercial insurance programs function.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are necessary, along with high attention to detail and the capability to manage a high volume of patient accounts autonomously.
• A dependable high-speed internet connection and a private, professional remote work environment are mandatory.
• You must be available to perform your duties during standard Central Time business hours.
• Although not mandatory, priority is given to candidates with a background in mental or behavioral health billing, knowledge of Illinois Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, or experience using IntakeQ or PracticeQ systems.
• Candidates with familiarity in behavioral health coverage guidelines and psychotherapy-related CPT codes will be given preference.

Responsibilities

• You will manage the full lifecycle of insurance claims, which includes generating and filing claims for completed therapy appointments and ensuring every submission is error-free.
• Your tasks involve confirming patient insurance eligibility and coverage details, such as deductibles, copayments, and service limitations specific to behavioral health.
• You will stay on top of payer authorizations, monitor the progress of claims, and conduct follow-up actions on outstanding balances with payers like Aetna, BCBS PPO, and UnitedHealthcare.
• When claims are rejected or denied, you will be expected to evaluate the issues, draft appeals, and file corrected documents.
• You will record insurance payments from EOBs and ERAs to balance patient accounts, create superbills for clients who are out-of-network, and keep detailed logs of all claims-related interactions.
• In every task, you are required to safeguard patient data and maintain strict adherence to all HIPAA regulations.
