Construction Estimator – Dayshift

About the Role

This Construction Estimator position is part of a team providing premium outsourcing solutions to firms across Australia and New Zealand. Your work centers on producing precise quantity take-offs and cost projections for structural and concrete formwork initiatives. You will be instrumental in assisting the tender cycle and maintaining high-quality project records to optimize operations for a global clientele. Requirements

• Possess a bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrate a background in commercial support, quantity take-offs, or estimating within the construction sector.
• Maintain specialized knowledge in reinforced concrete, structural concrete, and concrete formwork projects.
• Show the capacity to read and interpret technical specifications, construction documents, and structural drawings to create accurate cost estimates and Bills of Quantities.
• Exhibit proficiency in Bluebeam or comparable estimating tools and Microsoft Excel.
• Understand construction methodologies, formwork systems, and labor productivity metrics.
• Maintain high levels of communication, commercial awareness, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Prior exposure to contract administration and Australian construction projects is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Generate comprehensive quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities, and cost projections for formwork and structural projects.
• Analyze structural and General Arrangement drawings to define project scope and pricing, including calculations for concrete volumes, wall and column areas, slabs, and beams.
• Participate in the tender submission phase, adjust project costs, oversee variations, and handle financial reconciliations.
• Recognize potential risks, commercial consequences, omissions, and inconsistencies within project data.
• Update estimating software databases and manage project documentation and control systems.
• Coordinate with fellow estimators, project managers, contract administrators, and third-party suppliers to provide precise estimating data on schedule.
