Director of Finance, People Operations

About the Role

We are looking for a Director of Finance and People Operations to act as a primary partner to the COO. This dual-purpose position focuses on directing our financial stability and human resources strategy by transforming intricate data into clear executive actions. As a central figure in our leadership group, you will contribute to yearly planning, operational assessments, and vital investment choices to ensure we remain efficient and agile. You will oversee both finance and HR, promoting a high-performance culture and ensuring the security of confidential information. By establishing effective operational routines and strict internal oversight, you will ensure that these departments remain synchronized with our organizational mission and expansion goals. This role provides a distinct chance for a multi-skilled expert to exert a major influence on a long-standing organization in the real estate management sector.

Requirements

• You should possess extensive, growing experience in finance or accounting, specifically regarding financial statements, forecasting, budgeting, and liquidity management.
• You must be skilled in HR operations, specifically in performance management, recruitment, employment law compliance, and payroll administration.
• You are required to demonstrate a proven history of managing others and fostering teams capable of producing high-quality, autonomous work.
• Advanced proficiency in spreadsheets is required, alongside experience using HRIS, accounting software, and property management systems.
• You must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on your ability to explain complex financial and human resources information to stakeholders without a background in those areas.
• Background in a multifaceted service-oriented company, such as real estate or property management, is strongly desired, as are professional credentials like CMA, CPA, or SHRM-CP/SCP.
• You must demonstrate sound judgment regarding sensitive data and be capable of managing remote, distributed teams across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

• You will manage, mentor, and ensure the accountability of the HR Manager and Controller regarding their team's output.
• Your financial tasks include managing the monthly closing process, payroll recording, yearly budget creation, liquidity planning, and enforcing internal control policies.
• You must generate monthly reports covering margins, costs, labor productivity, and financial hazards, while managing interactions with external tax experts, banking partners, and auditors.
• Your human resources duties involve converting business goals into personnel strategies, managing the entire employee experience from start to finish, and creating frameworks for salary, career growth, and promotions.
• Furthermore, you will enhance our HR and finance platforms through increased automation and improved data integrity, support management in handling staff relations, and implement weekly performance scorecards to monitor key indicators and operational dangers.
