About the Role
A remote Fire Alarm Design and Estimating Engineer is required to offer technical assistance for fire and security initiatives. Requirements
- Minimum of one year of specialized experience in fire alarm system design, including technical surveying or estimating within the Fire and Security industry.
- Ability to interpret and take digital measurements from schematic diagrams and scaled architectural drawings.
- Comprehensive knowledge of British Standards regarding fire safety, specifically BS 5839.
- Experience with PDF markup software or CAD, such as Bluebeam, for digital takeoffs is desirable.
- Familiarity with industry-standard brands such as Ajax, Hikvision, C-TEC, Texecom, Paxton, EMS Smartcell, and Pyronix.
- Competence in calculating unit margins and project costs.
- Previous practical experience working as a service or installation engineer is a significant benefit.
Responsibilities
- Create precise equipment specs and layout designs using site surveys and architectural plans.
- Calculate labor needs, device quantities, and cable lengths to build itemized material lists and client quotes that meet profit goals.
- Interpret field engineer observations and site intelligence into comprehensive technical records.
