The entity operates a global workforce across multiple jurisdictions to enact and uphold environmental standards. You are invited to apply for a Lawyer position specializing in the nexus of energy and ecological protection. You will join a purpose-led team to craft and execute regional priorities, with a specific emphasis on biodiversity preservation and energy transition efforts throughout Southeast Asia and Japan. This position provides an opportunity to shape legal frameworks and policies while supporting the development of a foundational nature strategy that aligns regional and global legal practices with conservation and climate objectives.

Requirements

• You must possess a law degree or an equivalent professional qualification.
• A solid foundation in energy regulation, law, and policy is required.
• You need expertise in biodiversity conservation policy and law, as well as a thorough grasp of how nature conservation and the energy transition overlap.
• You are required to be fluent in English (C2 level) and maintain C2-level proficiency in either Filipino or Bahasa Indonesia.
• You must be capable of representing the organization professionally and engaging positively with a variety of external partners, such as nongovernmental organizations and state agencies.
• You must already possess the legal authorization to work within the specified regions.

Responsibilities

• You will oversee the creation and execution of regional strategic goals, ensuring they remain consistent with the organization’s overarching objectives.
• Your daily work will involve executing comprehensive factual, technical, and legal research and documentation to bolster litigation and advocacy efforts.
• Building and nurturing essential partnerships with civil society groups, industry professionals, and government entities across the Philippines, Indonesia, and Japan will be a core focus.
• You will supply expertise regarding national contexts, assist in the formulation of nature-focused strategies, highlight potential legal liabilities, and communicate the organization's initiatives to both internal and external audiences.
