Their technology enables insurance providers to rapidly develop and deploy products, administer policies and claims, and bypass the constraints of outdated infrastructure. Serving an international base of insurers, managing general agents, and other technology partners, the firm facilitates digital modernization and improves user engagement through flexible deployment options. They are currently looking for a Legal Officer residing in the Philippines to join the team and provide critical legal assistance for worldwide activities. This position is vital for guiding internal teams on legal hazards, maintaining regulatory adherence, and overseeing corporate documentation within a rapidly changing insurtech environment.

Requirements

• You must hold a law degree from a recognized university.
• You need a minimum of two years of professional experience in roles such as Legal Officer, Legal Practitioner, or Paralegal.
• You are required to demonstrate a history of proficiency in creating, auditing, and refining contracts.
• You must possess strong analytical and legal research capabilities, alongside the capacity to handle various projects with high organizational precision.
• You should have superior command of English in both written and spoken formats, specifically the ability to clarify intricate legal topics for individuals without a legal background.
• You are required to be based in the Philippines.
• Possession of a professional legal qualification, such as having passed the Philippine Bar Examination, is preferred.
• Background experience in corporate law, commercial agreements, or employment law is viewed as beneficial, as is previous tenure at a technology firm.

Responsibilities

• Draft, analyze, and negotiate diverse commercial contracts, encompassing SaaS, service, and vendor agreements.
• Provide counsel to internal departments regarding legal liabilities to inform business strategies.
• Offer direction to the Human Resources team concerning labor agreements, contractor relations, and staffing issues.
• Perform corporate administrative duties, such as keeping legal files accurate and completing mandatory documentation filings.
• Stay informed about evolving legal and regulatory trends.
• Track intellectual property assets and coordinate with outside legal representatives on registration filings.
• Partner with technical and security staff on data privacy concerns.
• Aid in the completion of client due diligence inquiries.
• Create and refine internal legal workflows, standardized templates, and corporate policies.
