Operations Manager, Trade Accounts

About the Role

As the Operations Manager for Trade Accounts, you will be instrumental in optimizing business workflows, overseeing trade partnerships, and maintaining the seamless execution of logistics from start to finish. This role integrates supply chain administration, financial tracking, and client services, necessitating an organized individual capable of managing intricate tasks independently. Acting as the main operational point of contact for interior designers, trade partners, and manufacturers, you will ensure total precision throughout the order process. You will support wholesale and trade activities by overseeing the entire lifecycle of accounts, from the first inquiry through final distribution. You will work within an energetic setting where you can impact essential results like profit margins and client happiness. Your duties include creating and improving scalable operational systems, while offering leadership clear updates on vital data such as revenue performance, stock levels, and overhead costs. Achieving success in this position demands a blend of analytical precision and effective communication to manage the intricacies of supply chain operations and global trade.

Requirements

• You should demonstrate a proven capacity for developing, controlling, and evaluating intricate pricing frameworks, landed cost spreadsheets, and gross margin analyses.
• Acute attention to detail is vital for keeping accurate records for inventory, customer profiles, and order management.
• You must possess excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the self-assurance to conduct business with international suppliers, corporate clients, and logistics firms.
• You are required to handle various operational workflows autonomously, specifically during New Zealand business hours.
• Prior experience with Xero accounting software is preferred.
• Previous background in sectors such as furniture, wholesale trade, interior design, or homewares is highly valued.
• Direct experience with international freight forwarding, container import logistics, and 3PL warehouse management is considered a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms, purchase order management systems, inventory software, and trade e-commerce websites is a significant asset.

Responsibilities

• You will develop, adjust, and supervise landed cost structures and automated trade pricing systems that incorporate expenses for duties, freight, insurance, and 3PL services.
• You will supervise comprehensive shipping tasks, monitor container locations, and direct the main 3PL relationship concerning storage, receipt of goods, and domestic distribution.
• You will organize purchase orders with global manufacturers, monitoring production timelines, financial deposits, and billing to guarantee on-time completion.
• You will lead the entire trade account lifecycle, encompassing everything from developing custom quotes and processing orders to offering support after delivery.
• You will direct vendor correspondence regarding product specifications and quality assurance, ensuring product information is correctly updated on the B2B online portal.
• You will deliver recurring reports to management covering operating costs, gross margins, and sales data.
• You will create and document scalable operational processes to improve company efficiency.
