About the Role

Requirements

- Capacity to analyze Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) forms to verify patient balances.

Responsibilities
- Input patient payments into the practice management system with precision and conduct reconciliations against receipts and deposits.
- Verify that patient balance responsibilities are accurate by coordinating with the insurance accounts receivable department.
- Manage the creation, quality check, and punctual mailing of patient statements.
- Contact patients via email and phone to resolve outstanding balances and establish payment plans that align with office policies.
- Maintain current patient insurance data and demographic details.
- Generate and share weekly and monthly reports regarding patient aging and payment status with relevant parties.
- Log all interactions, account updates, and follow-up plans into the system to maintain accurate records.
- Safeguard private health information per HIPAA requirements.
- Escalate complex issues to your supervisor, including hardship cases, account disputes, or situations needing collection agency involvement.
