About the Role

The Product Development Project Manager for Consumer Products occupies a pivotal position in overseeing the journey of physical merchandise from initial ideation to commercial release. Your focus involves upholding cost precision, governing intricate schedules, and harmonizing production activities alongside international partners. You act as the primary link between manufacturing activities and commercial stakeholders to verify that initiatives adhere to budgetary and timing constraints. As a lead for these projects, you are tasked with consistently optimizing development systems and methodologies to streamline operations as the product range expands. This energetic role is suited for a professional who flourishes in high-velocity settings and is adept at monitoring numerous physical product projects concurrently. You will engage with teams across the globe, foster innovation in consumer goods, and aid in the expansion and operational excellence of the business.

Requirements

• You must possess a track record in project management focused on consumer product development, ideally involving physical items sold through retail or e-commerce platforms.
• You are required to show expertise in product costing, pricing methods, and margin evaluation.
• You need advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets for developing cost models, alongside proficiency in platforms like Smartsheet, Monday, Asana, or MS Project for building Gantt charts and project plans.
• You must have superior verbal and written communication skills and the capacity to stay organized while managing products at different development phases.
• Backgrounds involving collaboration with foreign suppliers, particularly in China, are highly desirable.
• You are required to reside in the Philippines; note that experience restricted to software, IT, or localization project management does not qualify for this position.

Responsibilities

• You will manage and update the product cost tool, encompassing every element of raw materials, manufacturing, packaging, and total landed costs.
• Your duties involve constructing and revising pricing structures to meet profit margins and revenue objectives, as well as designing and administering development schedules using Gantt charts.
• You will communicate daily with staff in China to monitor product samples, approvals, and production stages, while informing the sales department about launch timing and progress.
• You will be required to detect and communicate potential scheduling setbacks, price volatility, or risks early on while offering viable remedies.
• You will compile project records and progress updates, conduct frequent meetings with stakeholders to confirm consensus, and proactively upgrade internal systems to boost development efficiency.
