Project Engineer, SCADA and Controls Systems

The Project Engineer for SCADA and Control Systems acts as a key contributor to these objectives by spearheading technical tasks and providing guidance from project inception until the final handoff to the client. This person will coordinate internal and external teams to guarantee that all goals and outputs are accomplished. You will engage in a team-oriented setting with developers, utility providers, EPC partners, owner representatives, and internal product, project, and commissioning groups to deploy sophisticated monitoring and control technologies for major renewable energy sites.

Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, engineering, Technology, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrate at least three years of professional experience in SCADA development, specifically regarding photovoltaic (PV) and Battery (BESS) systems.
• Maintain a functional understanding of industrial communication protocols including DNP3, Modbus TCP/IP, IEC 61850, OPC-UA, and ICCP, alongside a strong grasp of network and communication design foundations.
• Demonstrate proficiency in a programming language and prior involvement in architectural design for communications.
• Show an ability to handle concurrent projects, previous experience managing direct client interactions, and the capacity for up to 15% travel.
• Display excellent interpersonal skills and a track record of participating in or heading programs for lessons-learned and process improvements.
• Experience with the Ignition platform is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate client project materials to establish SCADA configuration needs and assist in designing control and monitoring systems for utility-scale developments.
• Draft and refine system structure diagrams, IP tables, device signal lists, schematic logic representations, and interface prototypes.
• Produce detailed documentation covering design, development, and commissioning while offering technical guidance for the internal knowledge repository.
• Participate in factory acceptance evaluations, system acceptance trials, and the commissioning process for SCADA setups and associated hardware.
• Direct, train, and guide junior staff members while assisting with the assessment of engineering service bids to ensure they align with project objectives.
