Senior AR Clerk

About the Role

In this senior position, you will be responsible for the comprehensive management of accounts receivable operations. Your duties will include generating and distributing invoices for services and products provided. You will be tasked with processing and recording customer payments received through various channels, such as checks and electronic transfers, ensuring accurate allocation to respective customer accounts. A crucial part of your role involves assessing the creditworthiness of potential and existing clients, setting appropriate credit limits, and actively monitoring accounts with outstanding balances, initiating follow-ups to collect payments. You will also resolve any discrepancies found when reconciling payments against invoices. Collaboration with the sales department is expected to address payment-related queries, devise effective collection tactics, and cultivate strong client relationships to improve satisfaction and foster loyalty.

Requirements

• You should possess robust organizational and time management capabilities, coupled with a high level of attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Effective communication abilities, a focus on customer service, and a proactive problem-solving approach are necessary.
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a similar discipline is required.
• A minimum of four to six years of experience in Accounts Receivable and General Accounting, or comparable experience, is essential.
• You must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, including advanced Excel features like pivot tables and formulas.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or SAP is critical.
• Strong command of spoken and written English is needed for daily communication.
• Holding a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• You will oversee all facets of invoicing, customer payment processing, and accounts receivable management.
• This involves generating invoices, logging payments received, and accurately applying them to customer accounts.
• You are expected to evaluate customer creditworthiness and establish credit limits.
• Your tasks will include vigilant monitoring of overdue accounts and engaging with customers to obtain outstanding payments.
• You will match incoming payments to outstanding invoices and resolve any associated discrepancies.
• Regular review of accounts receivable aging reports is required to track outstanding funds.
• You will develop and execute collection strategies designed to decrease overdue balances.
• Key duties involve building and maintaining positive customer relationships by responding to inquiries and addressing payment issues.
