About the Role

We are looking for a meticulous Senior Bookkeeper to oversee end-to-end financial operations for two separate Australian entities, covering property assets and e-commerce distribution. This position is essential for upholding financial precision, calling for a specialist capable of navigating intricate ledgers, handling entries across multiple entities, and performing thorough reconciliations. You will act as a primary resource for financial data, facilitating the flow of information between operational staff and tax consultants to support business objectives. Beyond standard bookkeeping, you will engage in strategic tasks such as monitoring inventory in MYOB EXO and Shopify, managing budgets, and forecasting cash flow. You will provide value by highlighting financial hazards, conducting variance reviews, and overseeing procurement processes. This vacancy is well-suited for a finance expert who excels at working remotely and independently while balancing various deadlines governed by Australian regulations.

Requirements

• Possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and have a minimum of 5 to 6 years of experience working with Australian companies.
• Demonstrate advanced competency in MYOB EXO, including the ability to function without direct supervision, and show proficiency in Excel functions like pivot tables, budget modeling, and XLOOKUP.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of local accounting standards, such as BAS, GST, PAYG, STP, superannuation, and payroll regulations.
• Show a successful history of managing accounts receivable and payable, reconciliations, and stock management.
• Communicate clearly in English to engage with stakeholders and leadership effectively.
• Work independently, maintain high levels of precision, and handle sensitive information with complete confidentiality.
• Successfully pass a technical evaluation concerning system skills and core accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Keep general ledgers current, perform transaction coding, and conduct daily reconciliations for credit cards, petty cash, and bank accounts.
• Manage the full accounts payable and receivable cycle, from invoice handling to debt recovery.
• Administer fortnightly payroll for Australian staff, including superannuation contributions and STP compliance.
• Handle detailed inventory operations, such as stock tracking, landed cost calculations, and reconciling Shopify payment data.
• Develop monthly management reports, encompassing financial statements, cash-flow projections, and budget-to-actual comparisons.
• Collaborate with external tax professionals by completing BAS workpapers and GST reconciliations for filing.
• Monitor internal financial controls, track purchase orders, and resolve pricing or inventory mismatches.
• Uphold financial accuracy and proactively detect operational inefficiencies or risks to suggest improvements.
