Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer for a remote position. You will contribute to a platform that delivers AI-driven, cloud-native software to help clients in the manufacturing, recycling, logistics, and waste management industries enhance their sustainability and efficiency. You will be core to security operations, responsible for the design, deployment, and management of rigorous controls across SaaS, endpoint, identity, and cloud infrastructures. Your work will involve crafting sophisticated detection strategies and fine-tuning security tools to safeguard our global user base. You will manage security architecture and incident response, perform vulnerability evaluations, and collaborate with teams to implement risk-focused fixes. This role also requires mentoring staff, creating technical documentation, and promoting a culture of secure engineering while supporting net-zero environmental goals.

Requirements

• You should possess at least 5 years of professional experience in security operations, infrastructure security, or cybersecurity engineering.
• You must show proven expertise in operating and deploying enterprise security tools in distributed or complex setups.
• You need deep knowledge of cloud security, with a strong preference for Microsoft Azure experience regarding workload protection, logging, and identity.
• You must be proficient in PowerShell or Python, as well as KQL, alongside a fundamental understanding of Windows and Linux security, networking, authentication standards, and modern software architecture.
• You should be familiar with security standards like the NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Relevant certifications such as CCSP, CISSP, a Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect designation, or GCIH are considered a significant advantage.
• You must have experience with threat analysis, incident response, and MDR/EDR solutions.
• You need the ability to effectively translate technical risk information for audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.
• You should be experienced in container security, DevSecOps methodologies, and infrastructure as code, while maintaining a practical, risk-oriented mindset toward problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• You will design and uphold security measures for our identity, cloud, network, email, endpoint, and SaaS ecosystems.
• You will spearhead technical investigations, perform remediation efforts, and conduct post-incident evaluations.
• You will build and refine security solutions, such as EDR/XDR, SIEM, and platforms for vulnerability management.
• You will create detection logic, automation workflows, and dashboards to generate meaningful security data.
• You will execute vulnerability scans, manage remediation priorities based on risk levels, and work with system owners to address security gaps.
• You will support IAM initiatives, including privileged access management and Zero Trust models.
• You will draft security standards, architecture plans, and technical documentation while assisting with control validation.
• You will engage with internal stakeholders and external partners to evaluate threats and verify the effectiveness of fixes.
• You will act as a technical mentor for analysts and engineers to encourage secure development habits.
• You will participate in on-call schedules and incident escalation procedures as required.
