About the Role

As a SolidWorks Specialist, you will support an AI training initiative by applying your sophisticated CAD skills to real-world mechanical design problems. You will perform intricate engineering operations, build comprehensive 3D models, and provide detailed, sequential rationales for your design choices. This role suits mechanical engineering professionals who want to enhance the proficiency of AI systems within the CAD field. Your primary function is to link practical technical design with AI training, where you will produce models alongside structured documentation and prompts that instruct AI on executing mechanical design workflows. This contract position demands extreme accuracy, proficiency in managing feature trees, and the ability to capture your professional design processes on video.

Requirements

• Demonstrate robust professional expertise in SolidWorks, specifically involving extensive experience with complex assemblies and 3D parametric modeling.
• Possess a strong foundation in mechanical engineering, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and manufacturing methods including CNC, forging, casting, sheet metal, and injection molding.
• Maintain a minimum B2 English proficiency level to ensure effective documentation and communication.
• Supply your own SolidWorks software and possess the necessary equipment to record screen activity during work tasks.
• Preferred qualifications include a Master’s or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, experience with Fusion 360 or FreeCAD, and a background in human data annotation for AI projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and improve 3D CAD models of mechanical components and assemblies utilizing parametric modeling, sketching, and constraint tools.
• Execute design updates and creation tasks in alignment with precise technical specifications.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of models to verify dimensions, tolerances, and production accuracy.
• Perform sophisticated CAD functions while providing in-depth explanations and documentation regarding design intent.
• Generate concise instructions and technical prompts to assist AI systems in learning design tasks.
• Maintain organized feature trees and perform detailed manufacturability reviews to confirm designs meet production standards.
