About the Role
We are hiring a full-time Technical Designer to support a New York-based online business that creates custom collegiate apparel, including shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, and sweaters. You will collaborate with our Sourcing Manager, design and operations departments, and international manufacturers to ensure apparel quality. This role involves taking charge of initiatives to enhance our development, sampling, and production workflows, helping to shape the identity of our products within the student community.
Requirements
- You must reside in the Philippines, preferably in or near Quezon City.
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in pattern making, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD pattern-making programs such as Optitex, Lectra, or Gerber AccuMark, as well as digital grading and adjustment skills.
- Expert knowledge of garment fitting, construction, and measurements.
- Familiarity with diverse textiles, including knits, wovens, stretch fabrics, elastic, and lace.
- Strong analytical mindset and high-level proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to function autonomously in a remote setting.
- Access to a dependable home office environment and willingness to work across varying time zones.
Responsibilities
- Create precise, manufacturing-ready sewing patterns using design references, technical specs, and approved samples.
- Manage and update pattern grading for every size range.
- Evaluate samples to refine fit, measurements, and construction quality.
- Translate technical packs and construction instructions into digital files for our production partners.
- Partner with internal teams and international manufacturers to resolve challenges regarding sewing, patterns, and production.
- Organize and maintain accurate pattern databases and technical records.
- Engage in asynchronous communication with external partners to define needs and overcome production hurdles.
