As a US Vacation Rental Tax Lead, you will become part of a group that acts as an essential B2B partner for enterprises handling up to 200 listings. This position is vital to the firm's goal of maintaining tax compliance and accuracy within the short-term rental sector. You will operate in a fully remote and inclusive setting that prioritizes career development and the acquisition of deep knowledge regarding complex US tax laws.

Requirements

• You must have at least 3 years of pertinent tax experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a team lead or leadership role.
• You need a demonstrated history of working with US short-term or vacation rental tax compliance.
• You must have extensive understanding of local and multi-state tax legislation and be highly skilled in using spreadsheet software and cloud-based accounting and tax tools.
• You require excellent verbal and written communication abilities to manage client relations in a professional and approachable manner.
• You should possess strong analytical skills, precise attention to detail, and an organized work style to adhere to firm deadlines.
• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is desired.
• You must be available to work between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM EST and observe Philippine holidays.

Responsibilities

• You will manage the complete lifecycle of filing, reviewing, and preparing various US vacation rental taxes, such as lodging, sales, and Transient Occupancy Taxes across multiple jurisdictions.
• You will assess rental revenue data from channels like VRBO and Airbnb to guarantee reporting accuracy.
• You will supervise junior tax associates and administrative personnel, offering them guidance, training, and consistent support to uphold quality standards.
• You will lead the enhancement of internal tax procedures, create standard operating protocols, and oversee compliance tracking systems.
• You will act as the main liaison for clients regarding tax notices and registrations, while also coordinating with tax agencies to address inquiries and resolve notices.
• You will assist with the integration of new clients to ensure their compliance requirements are addressed immediately upon engagement.
