Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant discipline.
• Active CPA certification.
• Five to seven years of increasing responsibility in finance or accounting positions.
• Proven history of managing payroll, bank reconciliations, month-end closures, and financial statement production.
• Deep understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote, international work context.
• Technical competence with cloud accounting platforms and ERP software.
• Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
• Effective communication skills to engage with various stakeholders and a commitment to ongoing improvement.
• Prior experience in technology, professional services, or consulting firms and a background in staff mentorship are highly valued assets.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting tasks such as payroll, general ledger upkeep, and accounts receivable and payable.
• Verify and authorize vendor transactions, client invoices, and ledger entries.
• Execute accurate month-end and year-end closing procedures in a timely manner.
• Evaluate financial data to spot patterns and create monthly reports.
• Assist in cash flow planning, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
• Maintain adherence to tax obligations, statutory regulations, and internal financial policies.
• Coordinate with banking institutions and facilitate audit requirements.
• Enhance internal control systems and document standard operating procedures for accounting.
• Detect and implement opportunities for process automation.
• Mentor and supervise the finance team, including the review of work performed by junior staff.
• Partner with internal departments to improve overall financial outcomes.
